Unknown French Violin, c.1800

Possible French copy of the Italian schools of violin making, c1800.

We often say opening an instrument is like unwrapping a mummy…the more you undue, the more crumbles under your fingertips.

With so many of the blocks detaching from the ribs, loose linings, cracks, etc…it was in this violins best interest to completely rebuild it.
